The CHATSWORTH range of Slide and Tilt windows, has been specifically designed to solve the problems associated with cleaning and maintenance, whilst accommodating the aesthetic requirements of planners and architects for listed buildings within conservation areas.

The CHATSWORTH range can be tailor-made to suit most configurations within both refurbishment projects and new developments, whether single or double-glazed. Our range of bespoke services enables close matching of existing sections and sight-lines.

Slide and tilt action
The design of the Chatsworth range is intended to combine long life with minimum maintenance. The smooth sliding action results from the accurate interaction possible between traditional and contemporary materials. Strong extruded aluminium channels are housed in the timber surrounds and hard wearing plastic precision engineered slide assemblies complete with double weather strips, are fitted to the sash. High performance spiral balances are pre-tensioned at the factory, but may require some simple on-site adjustment.

Tailor-made Styles & Mouldings
Each window in the range is tailor made to order using our proven sections and ovolo moulded in keeping with traditional practice. Virtually any size, style and shape can be produced within practical limitations to give specifiers complete freedom of choice and proportion, suiting both refurbishment projects and new developments.

Materials and Construction
Windows are manufactured in European Redwood, from managed P.E.F.C. sources or in any species of hardwood specified. All joints are formed using advanced machining methods and purpose designed tooling.

Glazing
Both single and double glazing can be supplied. Single glazed sashes can incorporate either putty profile beading or left open to accept putty by others. Chatsworth windows are supplied factory glazed in accordance with BS 6262.

Health and Safety
Windows calculated to exceed CDM recommended limits are supplied de-sashed if necessary, for ease of handling. Chatsworth sashes, in particular, are simply installed on site if necessary.

Security
Sections within the entire MH Joinery range have externally beaded profiles in line with good joinery practice. Factory glazing incorporates a proven security tape.

Building Part 'L'
MH Joinery's entire product range has been subjected to a thermal simulation test as described in ISO 15099. All products passed with thermal conductivity readings in line with Document Part 'L'.

Acoustic Glazing
MH Joinery has extensive experience in the field of sound reduction. Further advice is available upon request.

Applied glazing bars
After much deliberation, MH Joinery accepted the applied bar solution as the only way of satisfying both planners and insulation requirements within building regulations. This has now been incorporated into our entire range of windows and doors.

Ventilation
To avoid hindering the aesthetic lines of the window, we can provide ventilation discreetly through the head of the frame.

Performance
The Chatsworth range of windows has been fully tested in accordance with BS 6375 Part 1.

Preservative
All softwood timber frames are preservative treated using double the vacuum impregnation process as required by the NHBC.

Finishes
Windows are supplied as standard in a semi-finish of one basecoat of stain/primer plus one topcoat of water based stain/micro-porous paint. A full factory finish is available. When site decorating, it is important that care is taken to avoid contact with operational parts of the window, as paint applied to the aluminium channel and weather strips will impair overall performance. Contact can be avoided using the tilt facility.

Ironmongery
The standard ironmongery package includes one brass Fitch fastener (2no. to sashes over 900mm wide) and 2no. brass sash lifts.

Security/safety
A range of safety and security fittings are available as an optional extra.
