 Six opening alternatives
The Woburn system offers six alternative openings, all from the same flush sash profile, making it one of the most flexible window systems on the market.
1. Top hung canopy - an outward sash on heavy duty friction hinges.
2. Side hung sliding projection - an outward opening sash on heavy duty friction stay hinges with an opening angle of 90 degrees, permitting safe internal cleaning.
3/4. Side or top hung - an outward opening sash on modified butt hinges where ease of cleaning is not required.
5. Side hung fully reversible - rotates through 180 degrees for safe internal cleaning.
6. Top hung fully reversible - rotates through 180 degrees for safe and easy cleaning without intruding into the room. The hinge incorporates a restrictor.
Tailor-made Styles & Mouldings
Each window in the range is tailor made to order using our proven sections. Any size, style and shape can be produced within practical limitations to give specifiers reasonable freedom of choice, proportion and size, suiting both refurbishment projects and new developments.
Materials and Construction
Windows are manufactured in European Redwood, from managed P.E.F.C. sources or in any species of hardwood specified. All joints are formed using advanced machining methods and purpose designed tooling.
Glazing
Woburn windows are normally supplied factory glazed in accordance with BS6262.
Health and Safety
Windows calculated to exceed CDM recommended limits are supplied de-sashed if necessary, for ease of handling.
Security
Sections within the entire MH Joinery range have externally beaded profiles in line with good joinery practice. Factory glazing incorporates a proven security tape.
Building Part 'L'
MH Joinery's entire product range has been subjected to a thermal simulation test as described in ISO 15099. All products passed with thermal conductivity readings in line with Document Part 'L'.
Acoustic Glazing
MH Joinery has extensive experience in the field of sound reduction. Further advice is available upon request.
Applied glazing bars
After much deliberation, MH Joinery accepted the applied bar solution as the only way of satisfying both planners and insulation requirements within building regulations. This has now been incorporated into our entire range of windows and doors.
Ventilation
To avoid hindering the aesthetic lines of the window, we can provide ventilation discreetly through the head of the frame.
Performance
The Woburn range of windows has been fully tested in accordance with BS 6375 Part 1.
Preservative
All softwood timber frames are preservative treated using double the vacuum impregnation process as required by the NHBC.
Finishes
Windows are supplied as standard in a semi-finish of one basecoat of stain/primer plus one topcoat of water based stain/micro-porous paint. A full factory finish is available. When site decorating, it is important that care is taken to avoid contact with operational parts of the window, as paint applied to weather stripping and ironmongery will impair overall performance.
Ironmongery options and accessories
Woburn windows incorporate an espagnollette bolt to all side hung opening casements. Locking handles can be supplied in a variety of finishes. All handles and vents are supplied factory fitted.
Security/safety
A range of safety and security fittings are available as an optional extra.
